Fortnite Battle Royale is undoubtedly the biggest videogame title of recent years, boasting over 10 million players daily. Since there are so many people playing the game, the company behind the title, Epic Games is trying its best to provide a safe place for the community. There have been many reports of account theft and subjects related to it. So in August 2018, Epic introduced to us the two-factor-authentication or 2FA as to provide an extra layer of security to Epic accounts on top of the passwords.

2FA works simple, you choose a way to receive a verification code from Fortnite 2FA website, often times it is through e-mail but there are other methods you can choose like Authentication Apps. These authentication apps that are approved by Epic include Google Authenticator, LastPass Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, and Authy. Once you enable 2FA, whenever you log in from a new device or haven’t logged in for 30 days, you will be asked to enter the verification code which you will be receiving from either via e-mail or the Authentication App you chose.

Enabling 2FA not only grants you that extra layer of security other than your password, upon activating you will get the Boogiedown emote on Fortnite Battle Royale. Also, you will have access to new in-game features where it requires you to have a 2FA enabled account.

You can enable this feature from the Fortnite 2FA website.
