Fortnite 2FA

By | April 8, 2019

Ever since Fortnite Battle Royale began growing, Epic Games have taken the necessary measurements to protect the player’s accounts.

There aren’t much of issues with the safety of the accounts but Epic wants to be cautious. On August 2018, Epic brought the two-factor-authentication or shortly known as 2FA to all the accounts. 2FA on Fortnite works just like on any other platform. You choose a way to receive a verification code whenever you log in on a new device or after not logging in for over 30 days. You can either get the verification code through your e-mail or via an authenticator app. These authenticators app include

  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • LastPass Authenticator
  • Google Authenticator
  • Authy

Although there are many authenticator apps out there, only the ones listed above are approved by Epic Games. This is a measure taken by Epic Games to protect your account but you can get some rewards once you activate it. Right after Fortnite 2FA came to Fortnite, Epic announced that everyone who activates it will be receiving Boogiedown Emote for free. Other than this reward, there are many events taking place in Fortnite exclusively available for those who activated this feature.

We highly recommend activating this feature regardless if you’re interested in the rewards or not. It adds up so much security to your account. Let’s assume your log in details were stolen, even with that nobody can log in on your account from a new device without the verification code.
