2FA is a way to add an extra layer of security to your Fortnite account, on top of your password specifically. It works simple and it’s the best way to secure a Fortnite account. Aside from the security, Epic Games regularly creates events where you could only participate if you’ve enabled this feature.
Let’s say someone has your Fortnite password, so they should be able to log in to your account right? Well, no! The way that 2fa works is whenever your account is being accessed from a new device, you will receive a code to your registration method to your 2fa. It can be done either via an authenticator app or most commonly via registered e-mail. Also, if you haven’t logged in to your account for more than 30 days, you will be asked to enter a code. However, Epic does not ask you to enter any sort of code every time you log in. It will only ask under the circumstances we mentioned above.
