Fortnite 2FA: How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication for Item Shop Gifting

By | April 8, 2019

Epic Games has just enabled gifting in Fortnite Battle Royale. Players are now able to send gifts to each other but there are some requirements for this.

Players who want to send gifts to their friends must have activated two-factor-authentication on their Epic Games account and can only gift players who have been in their friends list for over 48 hours. There is no special two-factor-authentication for this to work for you. If you’ve already enabled 2FA before this feature was added to the game, you are good to go! Other than the gifting, Epic Games come up with new events that require its players to enable 2FA. Although it has nothing to do with the events, its main purpose is to encourage players to take security measures to protect their accounts.

Since Fortnite Battle Royale has more than 10 million daily players actively playing the game, Epic is doing their best to keep everyone safe from account theft. We highly recommend that you enable two-factor authentication through an authentication app because it is faster and more secure compared to the e-mail authentication.

You can enable 2FA on your Epic Games account to participate in special Fortnite events and to secure your account!
