2FA or two-factor-authentication is a common way of logging on your account whether its Fortnite, any other videogame or website.
The main purpose of 2FA is to protect your account and improve the safety of it by adding an extra layer on top of your password. Once you enable it, whenever you log in to your account from a new device you will be asked to a verification code which you will receive from what you choose. Also, you will ask to enter 2FA verification code if you haven’t been logging on your account for over 30 days. The most common way to sign up to 2FA is through e-mail. However, using an authentication app is faster and safer.
